Time 15m

Yield 1 Honey Banana Toast, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 slice whole wheat bread, toasted (recommended, white bread will do)
1 banana
1 tablespoon honey
10 g nuts (any kind will do, cashews recommended)

Steps:

  • Butter your pan and slide in your slice of bread. If you're feeling up for more, you can toast some more.
  • Make sure your toast is golden-brown before you move on to the next step. The crunchier, the better!
  • With your tablespoon of honey, drizzle it lightly over the toast until the whole of it is covered in a thin layer of honey.
  • Cut up your banana into thin slices, around half a centimeter, and place the slices on top of the toast. Any leftovers can make up as an appetizer!
  • Chop up your nuts until they are ground into small pieces. Sprinkle the pieces all over the bananas.
  • And -- you're set! Enjoy this simple and easy-to-make snack with a glass of milk or tea.
  • (Here's a tip: 1 slice of toast bread is filling enough for a snack, but if you're looking for breakfast material, I suggest 2 slices, because 1 slice wouldn't be enough to fill you up in the morning.).

WEIGHT WATCHERS HONEY BANANA TOAST - 2 POINTS PER SERVING

Weight Watchers Honey Banana Toast - 2 Points Per Serving image

I am an idiot. Last year I GLUED all my weight watchers recipes out of weight watchers magazines into an exercise book. Come this year when I am given not one but two recipe folders to hold snippets out of magazine I have to try and unglue them. The result is not successful. So I am putting them on recipezaar to print them out to organise them. I'm not sure what issue they are from but this is definitely from weight watchers magazine.

Time 10m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 egg
1 tablespoon skim milk
1 pinch salt
2 slices Weight Watchers white bread
low-fat cooking spray
1 small banana
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Beat the egg in shallow bowl with milk and salt.
  • Add 2 slices of Weight Watchers bread and turn to coat in eggy mixture.
  • Heat a frying pan and coat with a low fat cooking spray and fry the bread for 2 minutes on the first side or until set and golden.
  • Turn over and fry for another 1.5 - 2 minutes or until cooked.
  • Place french toast on a warm plate and add pieces of 1 small banana between the two slices.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with honey.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful they will be in your toast. Look for bananas with a bright yellow peel and no green streaks.
  • Use a sturdy bread: A thick, sturdy bread will hold up better to the toppings and prevent it from getting soggy. Some good options include sourdough, French bread, or brioche.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with toppings: In addition to honey, you can also top your banana toast with other ingredients like peanut butter, almond butter, Nutella, or fresh fruit.
  • Make it a complete meal: If you're serving banana toast for breakfast or lunch, you can add a side of yogurt, fruit, or granola to make it a more complete meal.

Conclusion:

Banana honey toast is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or even dessert. It's a great way to use up ripe bananas and it can be customized to your own taste preferences. With its simple ingredients and easy preparation, banana honey toast is a great option for busy weeknights or lazy weekends.
