BANANA CLAFOUTI

A quick and easy dessert. We serve this up with homemade ice cream. This is a custard-like dessert normally made with cherries, but we love bananas and think it is better this way. Not recommended to use overly ripe bananas.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your clafouti will be.
  • Use a good quality vanilla extract: Pure vanilla extract will give your clafouti a richer flavor than artificial extract.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can make your clafouti tough.
  • Bake the clafouti until it is set in the center: A toothpick inserted into the center of the clafouti should come out clean.
  • Let the clafouti cool slightly before serving: This will help it to hold its shape.
  • Serve the clafouti with your favorite toppings: Some popular toppings include fresh fruit, whipped cream, and ice cream.

Conclusion:

Banana clafouti is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up ripe bananas, and it can be served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Clafouti is also a relatively healthy dessert, as it is made with whole wheat flour and fruit. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy dessert, give banana clafouti a try.
