3/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1/3 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

I found this recipe in a Southern Living Magazine. My goodness was it ever good! Add a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to top it off. I never knew this but Southern Living tests their recipes three times by three different testers before they will post a recipe. No wonder it is so good.

1 tablespoon butter, cut into pieces
4 very ripe bananas, mashed
6 tablespoons butter, melted, cooled to room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup milk

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana bread cobbler will be. If you don't have any ripe bananas on hand, you can ripen them quickly by placing them in a paper bag with an apple or two.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your banana bread cobbler tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a large baking dish: A 9x13 inch baking dish is the perfect size for this recipe. If you use a smaller dish, the cobbler will be too thick and may not cook through evenly.
  • Bake the cobbler until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling: This usually takes about 45 minutes.
  • Serve the cobbler warm with whipped cream or ice cream: This is the perfect way to enjoy this delicious dessert.

Conclusion:

Banana bread cobbler is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with a simple banana bread batter that is topped with a streusel topping and baked until golden brown. The cobbler is then served warm with whipped cream or ice cream. This recipe is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
