  • Mix water, butter, flour, and cornstarch together in a bowl until no lumps remain. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Pour apples in the baking dish.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Firm, tart apples like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn are best for this recipe. They hold their shape well and won't turn to mush in the slow cooker.
  • Peel and core the apples: This will help the apples cook evenly and prevent the skins from becoming tough.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the apples: This will help prevent the apples from breaking apart.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker: The apples should be in a single layer on the bottom of the slow cooker. If you have too many apples, cook them in batches.
  • Use a low heat setting: This will help the apples cook slowly and evenly.
  • Cook the apples for 4-6 hours: Or until they are tender and starting to brown.
  • Serve the apples warm or cold: They can be eaten on their own, or used as a topping for yogurt, oatmeal, or ice cream.

Conclusion:

Baked cinnamon apples are a delicious and easy dessert that can be made in the slow cooker. They are perfect for a weeknight dessert or a special occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is both flavorful and satisfying. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, give baked cinnamon apples a try.
