Time 2h30m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 lbs pork spareribs (fresh)
1 cup diced onion
1 cup ketchup
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Brown spareribs well.
  • Pour off excess fat.
  • Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs.
  • Bake covered at 350° for approximately 2 hours, turning 2 or 3 times.
  • Remove cover.
  • Bake for 15 minutes longer.
  • Enjoy.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality spareribs: Look for spareribs with good marbling and a nice, even color. Avoid ribs that are too fatty or have a lot of gristle.
  • Trim the spareribs: Remove any excess fat or gristle from the ribs. This will help the ribs cook evenly and will also make them more tender.
  • Make a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what will give the ribs their flavor. Use a combination of spices, herbs, and liquids to create a marinade that you like.
  • Cook the ribs low and slow: Spareribs need to be cooked low and slow in order to become tender. Cook them at a temperature of around 225 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 hours, or until the ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender.
  • Baste the ribs while they cook: Basting the ribs with the marinade or a barbecue sauce will help keep them moist and flavorful. Baste the ribs every 30 minutes or so.
  • Let the ribs rest before serving: Once the ribs are cooked, let them rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the ribs, making them even more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Baked barbecued spareribs are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can make sure that your spareribs turn out perfect every time. So fire up your oven and get ready to enjoy some of the best ribs you've ever had!
