I make this on the weekend for the kids to eat through the week. I double the recipe with no problems. It is a great way to use up the applesauce in the fridge.

Time 50m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Tips:

  • Use ripe apples for the best flavor. If your apples are not ripe, they will be tart and the oatmeal will not be as sweet.
  • Peel and core the apples before baking them. This will make them easier to eat and will prevent the oatmeal from becoming too thick.
  • Add spices to the applesauce before baking it. This will give the oatmeal a warm and flavorful taste. Some good spices to use include cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  • Use old-fashioned rolled oats for the best texture. Quick-cooking oats will make the oatmeal too mushy.
  • Cook the oatmeal over low heat. This will prevent it from burning and will allow the oats to absorb all of the flavors.
  • Serve the oatmeal warm with your favorite toppings. Some good toppings to use include milk, yogurt, honey, and fruit.

Conclusion:

Baked applesauce oatmeal is a delicious, healthy, and easy-to-make breakfast. It is a great way to use up leftover applesauce and is a perfect meal for a cold morning. This oatmeal is also a good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy breakfast, give baked applesauce oatmeal a try.
