Original Bacon-Wrapped Breadsticks:
This classic recipe showcases the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The breadsticks are made with a simple dough that's easy to work with, and the bacon adds a smoky, savory crunch. You can customize the seasoning blend to your liking, adding garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite herbs.
Cheesy Bacon-Wrapped Breadsticks:
For cheese lovers, this variation takes the bacon-wrapped breadsticks to the next level. A generous amount of mozzarella cheese is melted between the bacon and the bread, creating a gooey, flavorful center. The combination of crispy bacon, soft bread, and melted cheese is simply irresistible.

I first tried these breadsticks at a restaurant and the owner was kind enough to share the recipe. When I made them for my family, not a crumb was left and everyone was asking for more! -Wendy Domres, West Bend, Wisconsin

Steps:
- After the brown sugar has air-dried a bit, add the chili seasoning and mix with fingers to blend well.
- Take a bacon rasher and dip it into the sugar, pressing sugar in lightly on both sides.
- Wrap, barber-pole style around a breadstick and place on a greased (I use olive oil) baking pan or cookie sheet.
- Repeat with as many bacon rashers as you have left.
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Roast until bacon is cooked and you can see sugar has caramelized- make sure it's cooked and not burnt- about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and CAREFULLY pick up breadstick and place on a large platter to harden (the breadsticks will be soft at this point but will harden as they cool).
- This must be done immediately, otherwise the caramelized sugar will set and it will be impossible to get your breadsticks out of the pan.
SWEET CHICKEN BACON WRAPS (PAULA DEEN)
Hey you Paula Deen fans, she has a new magazine, "Cooking with Paula Deen"--this recipe is from the premier issue. It was so yummy looking, I couldn't wait to try it. I added another 15 minutes to the cooking time suggested (30-35 minutes) and It was just right, but oven temperatures vary, so check on it during the last few minutes of cooking time. I'm also going to add a few dashes of cayenne pepper next time for something hot and sweet!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes.
- Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick inserted on the diagonal starting where bacon seam overlaps.
- Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture.
- Coat a rack and broiler pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place chicken on rack in broiler pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.
Tips:
- Use quality ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will result in the best-tasting breadsticks. Look for good-quality bacon, mozzarella cheese, and bread dough.
- Don't overcook the bacon: The bacon should be cooked until it's crispy but not burnt. Overcooked bacon will be tough and chewy.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the bread dough: A sharp knife will help you get clean, even cuts. A dull knife will tear the dough and make it difficult to wrap the bacon around it.
- Don't overcrowd the baking sheet: Make sure to leave enough space between the breadsticks so that they can cook evenly.
- Serve the breadsticks warm: Bacon-wrapped breadsticks are best served warm, right out of the oven. You can reheat them in a preheated oven or toaster oven if necessary.
Conclusion:
Bacon-wrapped breadsticks are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. They're perfect for parties, potlucks, or game day gatherings. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty treat, give bacon-wrapped breadsticks a try!
