Bacon Lettuce Tomato (Blt) Dip-Really Easy & the Best You'll image

I can never make enough of this dip. This receipe is a new twist on the original by using cream cheese instead of sour cream. You cant go wrong! This was given to me by a friend but not sure why it's called BLT dip when there is no lettuce in it--don't worry, you'll wont miss it!

Time 10m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1 cup mayonnaise (i usually use Hellmans light)
1 -2 bunch green onion (chopped-amt depends on your taste)
6 ounces bacon bits (any kind you prefer is fine-I use a bag of Oscar Mayer)
1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded-I usually use mild)
1 tomatoes (seeded and chopped-I usually use 2 as I like more tomatoes)

Steps:

  • Mix mayo and cream cheese.
  • Add remaining ingredients. I prefer to make this the night before.
  • Serve with crackers-I think this tastes best with Ritz.

Tips:

  • For the best bacon flavor, use thick-cut bacon and cook it until it's crispy.
  • Use fresh, ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. Roma tomatoes are a good choice because they have fewer seeds and less juice.
  • To make the dip ahead of time, cook the bacon and chop the tomatoes and lettuce. Store the ingredients separately in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When ready to serve, mix the ingredients together and add the dressing.
  • Serve the dip with your favorite crackers, chips, or vegetables.
  • For a vegetarian version of the dip, omit the bacon and add some crumbled tofu or chickpeas.
  • To make a spicy version of the dip, add some chopped jalapeños or cayenne pepper.

Conclusion:

Bacon lettuce tomato dip is a classic party food that is always a hit. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like it spicy, cheesy, or vegetarian, there's a BLT dip recipe out there for you. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give bacon lettuce tomato dip a try.
