BABY PACIFIERS (SHOWER FAVORS)

Baby Pacifiers (shower Favors) image

I saw this on an episode of "The Baby Story" a long time ago and dug it out when it was time for my sister's baby shower. Very cute placed on the guest tables at baby showers or on the food buffet table. Also good for playing the "Can't Say the Word" shower game (where every guest is given an item, sometimes it's a clothespin, and they are instructed at the beginning of the shower that they can't say a certain word. each time a guest says that word in conversation to another guest, the offending person must surrender their item/clothespin to the person that caught them. The person with the most items at the end of the shower wins.).

DIXIE CUP BOOTIES--BABY SHOWER FAVORS

Dixie Cup Booties--Baby Shower Favors image

I gave a small baby shower for a scout mom, and needed a cute, inexpensive favor. Found this on the internet, but made a few changes, instead of Dixie cups, I used Solo bathroom size, (3 oz.) plastic cups instead. You can find them at the grocery store. They are stronger, and work great. The shower I gave was for a baby boy, but you can use any color ribbon for the booties, everyone at the shower commented on how cute they looked!

Time 20m

Yield 15-20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

15 -20 solo plastic cups (3 oz. size) or 15 -20 dixie brand paper cups (3 oz. size)
ribbon (1 roll, satin or curling)

Steps:

  • Make two slits about an inch and a half apart down the side of the cup.
  • This will be the tongue of the shoe.
  • Along each side of the tongue, punch holes for the "shoe laces".
  • Run ribbon through the holes in the same way you would lace a pair of shoes.
  • Tie in a bow and fill with mints, nuts, or whatever you like.
  • Note: If you use Dixie cups, to keep the holes from ripping when laces are tied a little clear nail polish can be applied, but let dry before threading the laces.

BABY PACIFIER SHOWER FAVORS

Baby Pacifier Shower Favors image

Originally featured on "The Baby Story", this party favor has come in handy over the years when I used to cater! They can be used in so many ways, too! As favors and decorations on tables and plates, on top of cakes and cupcakes, necklace nametags, and even for playing the "Can't Say the Word" shower game where every guest is given an item, and they are instructed at the beginning of the shower that they can't say a certain word. Each time a guest says that word, that person must surrender their item to the person that caught them. The person with the most items at the end of the shower wins!

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality silicone pacifiers: Look for BPA-free, food-grade silicone pacifiers that are durable and safe for babies.
  • Keep pacifiers clean: Wash pacifiers thoroughly before each use and sterilize them regularly to prevent the growth of bacteria.
  • Inspect pacifiers regularly: Check pacifiers for signs of wear and tear, such as cracks or tears, and replace them immediately if damaged.
  • Use pacifiers safely: Never tie a pacifier around a baby's neck or attach it to clothing, as this can pose a strangulation risk.
  • Introduce pacifiers gradually: Some babies may take some time to get used to using a pacifier. Be patient and offer it to your baby regularly until they accept it.

Conclusion:

Baby pacifiers can be a helpful tool for soothing and comforting infants. By following these tips, you can ensure that your baby's pacifier is safe and hygienic. Remember to always use pacifiers safely and to consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns about your baby's use of a pacifier.
