Time 15m

Yield 20 silver dollar pancakes

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup baby food barley cereal (or other baby cereal)
1 cup water (or another liquid such as milk or formula)
1/2 cup mashed banana (or fruit of your choice)
1 tablespoon melted margarine (unsalted type) or 1 tablespoon butter (unsalted type)
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup baby food oatmeal
1/2 cup apple juice (or use water if you prefer)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together and add enough juice to make pancake consistency.
  • Cook on cook top in frying pan as with "regular" pancakes!

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your pancakes will be.
  • Mash the bananas well: Make sure the bananas are mashed until smooth, with no lumps. This will help the pancakes cook evenly.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the pancakes tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Cook the pancakes over medium heat: Cooking the pancakes over medium heat will help them cook evenly without burning.
  • Flip the pancakes only once: Flipping the pancakes too often will make them dry and tough. Flip them only once, when the edges are dry and bubbles begin to form on the surface.

Conclusion:

Baby cereal pancakes are a delicious and nutritious breakfast option for your little one. They're easy to make and can be tailored to your baby's individual needs. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect baby cereal pancakes every time.
