Categories     Steaks and Chops

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1-1/2 Tbsp butter
1 2-pound ham steak
1 lg red apple, cored, thinly sliced
1 medium green apple, cored, thinly sliced
1/2 c pure maple syrup
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in lg skillet over med-high heat. Fry ham steak until both sides are browned.
  • 2. Place apple slices over ham. Pour syrup over apples. Reduce heat to medium. Simmer, stirring occasionally until apples are tender. Sprinkle w/ pumkin pie spice right befor serving.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ham steak: Look for a ham steak that is at least 1 inch thick and has a good amount of marbling. This will ensure that the steak is juicy and flavorful.
  • Score the ham steak: Scoring the ham steak will help the marinade penetrate the meat and will also help to prevent the steak from curling up while it is cooking.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what will give the ham steak its flavor, so be sure to use a marinade that you like. The recipe in the article uses a simple marinade made with maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and spices.
  • Cook the ham steak over medium heat: Cooking the ham steak over medium heat will help to prevent the steak from drying out. If you cook the steak over too high of heat, it will brown on the outside but will be raw on the inside.
  • Use a meat thermometer: The best way to ensure that the ham steak is cooked through is to use a meat thermometer. The steak should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the ham steak rest before slicing: Letting the ham steak rest before slicing will help the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Autumn spice ham steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a fall meal. The steak is marinated in a flavorful mixture of maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and spices, then cooked over medium heat until it is cooked through. The result is a juicy, tender, and flavorful steak that is sure to please everyone at the table. Serve the ham steak with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.
