1 tablespoon canola oil
4 bone-in chicken thighs (about 1-1/2 pounds), skin removed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 medium Fuji or Gala apples, coarsely chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1/3 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup apple cider or juice
1 tablespoon honey

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Brown chicken thighs on both sides; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker; top with apples., Add onion to same skillet; cook and stir over medium heat 2-3 minutes or until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in barbecue sauce, apple cider and honey; increase heat to medium-high. Cook 1 minute, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Pour over chicken and apples. Cook, covered, on low 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours or until chicken is tender.Freeze option: Freeze cooled chicken mixture in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a covered saucepan, stirring occasionally.

2 large chicken breasts or 4 small chicken breasts
2 parsnips
2 carrots
1 acorn squash
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth
4 garlic cloves, coarsely minced
salt
pepper
nutmeg
honey

Steps:

  • Peel and chop carrots and parsnips and place them in the bottom of the crock pot.
  • Sprinkle with garlic.
  • Place chicken on top.
  • Pour in broth.
  • Cut squash into chunks and slice off the skin.
  • Place on top of chicken.
  • Sprinkle desired amounts of salt, pepper and nutmeg on top of squash and drizzle enough honey on top to lightly cover the squash.
  • Cook on low 8-10 hours.

1 can(s) (14 oz) whole artichoke hearts, drained
1 can(s) (14 oz) whole mushrooms, halved
12 chicken tenders
1 jar(s) (6 1/2 oz) marinated artichoke hearts, with liquid
3/4 c white wine
1/2 c balsamic vinaigrette
hot cooked noodles
paprika for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Spread whole artichoke hearts over bottom of crock pot or slow cooker.
  • 2. Top with half of the mushrooms.
  • 3. Layer chicken tenders over the mushrooms.
  • 4. Top chicken with marinated artichoke hearts with liquid.
  • 5. Add remaining mushrooms.
  • 6. Pour in wine and vinaigrette.
  • 7. Cover and cook on LOW 4-5 hours.
  • 8. Serve over hot cooked noodles. Garnish with paprika, if desired. Enjoy!

1 whole boneless skinless chicken breast
1 large white onion
1 lb small mixed squash
2 zucchini
1/2 lb button mushroom
1 (8 ounce) can stewed tomatoes (can use diced, crushed, sliced or whole)
1 tablespoon seasoning salt, pepper to taste
1 tablespoon dried basil
1/4 cup white wine
2 teaspoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Slice onions and place in bottom of pot. Season chicken with season salt and pepper and place on top of onions. Add sliced zukes and squashes, topped by mushrooms. Pour tomatoes over all. Top with basil. Add wine and a few dashes of olive oil.
  • Cook on high 3 hours. I have not tried it on low but I would imagine 6-8 hours.

2 (10.75 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup with garlic
1 cup water
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix (such as Lipton®)
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 yellow onion, sliced
4 (4 ounce) beef cube steaks
⅔ (12 ounce) package egg noodles

Steps:

  • Whisk cream of mushroom soup, water, and onion soup mix in a slow cooker until thoroughly combined.
