  • 5. LC SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Roasted Rutabagas and steamed kale. (To make rutabagas, toss peeled and quartered rutabagas with olive oil and some salt and pepper. Roast in a 400 degree oven till tender (about 15 to 25 minutes depending on the size of the rutabagas). If you don't like rutabaga, I found sweet potatoes work just as good roasted in the oven.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: For this recipe, use a firm, tart apple variety such as Granny Smith or Braeburn. These apples will hold their shape well during cooking and provide a nice contrast to the sweet chicken.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When browning the chicken, be sure to leave enough space between the pieces so that they can cook evenly. If you overcrowd the pan, the chicken will steam rather than brown.
  • Cook the chicken all the way through: Use a meat thermometer to make sure that the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit before serving. This will help to ensure that the chicken is safe to eat.
  • Make sure the sauce is thick enough: If the sauce is too thin, it will not cling to the chicken or the apples. If necessary, simmer the sauce for a few minutes longer until it has thickened to your desired consistency.
  • Serve immediately: This dish is best served immediately after it is made. The chicken will be most tender and the sauce will be at its peak flavor.

Conclusion:

Autumn Apple Chicken is a delicious and easy-to-make fall dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The combination of sweet apples, savory chicken, and tangy sauce is sure to please everyone at the table. Plus, it's a great way to use up any leftover apples you may have from apple picking or a trip to the farmers market. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy fall meal, give Autumn Apple Chicken a try.
