Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples. This will give your pie a more complex flavor. Some good choices include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn.
  • Peel and core the apples before slicing them. This will make it easier to eat the pie and will also help to prevent the apples from browning.
  • Don't overcrowd the pie pan. If you do, the apples will not cook evenly. Leave some space between the apples so that they can cook properly.
  • Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. This usually takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Let the pie cool before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and will also make the pie easier to slice.
  • Serve the pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This will make the pie even more delicious!

Conclusion:

Aunt Totsie's Mock Apple Pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its flaky crust and sweet and tangy filling, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a delicious dessert, give this recipe a try.
