Tips for Making the Best Meatloaf:

  • Choose the Right Meat: Use a combination of ground beef and ground pork for a moist and flavorful meatloaf.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Always use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best results.
  • Season Generously: Don't be afraid to season your meatloaf liberally. A good blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder is a good starting point.
  • Mix Thoroughly: Mix all of the ingredients together thoroughly, but don't overmix. Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough.
  • Shape and Cook Properly: Shape the meatloaf into a loaf shape and cook it in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Let Rest Before Slicing: Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meatloaf.

Conclusion:

Aunt Betty's Meatloaf is a classic comfort food dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its combination of ground beef and ground pork, flavorful seasonings, and a tangy glaze, this meatloaf is sure to be a hit at your next family gathering or potluck dinner.
