⅓ cup chopped fresh parsley
½ pound asparagus, trimmed
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large red bell pepper, diced

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil; cook ziti at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 minutes. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
  • Add ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and parsley to drained pasta. Mix and set aside.
  • Chop trimmed asparagus into 1/4-inch slices, separating stems and tips.

Tips:

  • Choose the right asparagus: Look for asparagus spears that are firm and have tight, closed tips. Avoid spears that are limp or have woody ends.
  • Trim the asparagus: Remove the tough, woody ends of the asparagus spears. You can do this by snapping off the ends where they naturally break, or by using a sharp knife to cut off about 1 inch from the bottom of each spear.
  • Cook the asparagus properly: Asparagus can be cooked in a variety of ways, but the most popular methods are boiling, steaming, and roasting. When boiling asparagus, add it to a pot of boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until it is tender-crisp. When steaming asparagus, place it in a steamer basket over a pot of boiling water and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until it is tender-crisp. When roasting asparagus, toss it with olive oil and salt and pepper, and then roast in a preheated oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, or until it is tender-crisp.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The best asparagus pasta bake is made with fresh ingredients. If you can, use fresh asparagus, fresh herbs, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Don't overcook the pasta: Pasta should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. If you overcook the pasta, it will become mushy and the dish will not be as good.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use will make a big difference in the flavor of the dish. Use a good quality Parmesan cheese that is freshly grated.
  • Season to taste: Season the dish with salt, pepper, and other spices to taste. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice or a drizzle of olive oil to brighten up the flavors.

Conclusion:

Asparagus pasta bake is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is made with fresh asparagus, pasta, cheese, and a creamy sauce. The asparagus is cooked until it is tender-crisp, and the pasta is cooked al dente. The cheese is melted and bubbly, and the sauce is creamy and flavorful. Asparagus pasta bake is a hearty and satisfying dish that is sure to please everyone at the table.
