Time 20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb ground turkey
1 1/3 cups French's French fried onions, divided
1 egg
1/2 cup water chestnut, finely chopped
1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
3 tablespoons stir-fry sauce, Asian, can use teriyaki baste & glaze sauce
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper sauce, Frank's RedHot Original
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
4 sandwich buns
shredded lettuce, to taste

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, one cup french fried onions, egg, water chestnuts, bread crumbs, stir-fry sauce, Franks RedHot sauce and the ginger. Shape meat mixture into four patties.
  • Broil patties six inches away from the heat source or grill over medium coals. Cook for 10 minutes or until burgers are no longer pink in the middle, turning only once.
  • Serve on buns and top with the remaining onions and lettuce.

Tips:

  • Use ground turkey breast for leaner burgers. If you prefer a more flavorful burger, you can use a combination of ground turkey breast and ground dark turkey meat.
  • Be gentle when mixing the turkey. Overmixing can make the burgers tough.
  • Form the burgers loosely. This will help them stay moist during cooking.
  • Cook the burgers over medium heat. This will help prevent them from drying out.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the burgers are cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Serve the burgers immediately. They are best when they are hot and juicy.

Conclusion:

These Asian turkey burgers with wasabi sauce are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional beef burgers. They are packed with flavor and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like your burgers mild or spicy, these burgers are sure to please. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give these Asian turkey burgers a try.
