Tips:

  • Choose the right onions: Sweet onions, such as Vidalia or Walla Walla, are best for this salsa. They have a milder flavor that won't overpower the other ingredients.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your salsa will taste. This is especially true for the onions, cilantro, and lime juice.
  • Don't overcook the onions: You want the onions to be softened but still have a bit of crunch. If you overcook them, they'll become mushy and lose their flavor.
  • Use a sharp knife: A sharp knife will make it easier to dice the onions and other vegetables evenly. This will help ensure that your salsa has a consistent texture.
  • Taste your salsa as you go: This is the best way to adjust the flavors to your liking. If you find that your salsa is too bland, add more salt, pepper, or chili powder. If it's too spicy, add more lime juice or sugar.

Conclusion:

Asian-style onion salsa is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used on tacos, burritos, nachos, or even as a dip for chips. It's also a great way to use up leftover onions. With its sweet and savory flavor, this salsa is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a new salsa recipe, give this one a try!
