ASIAN STYLE MEATLOAF

This is the most moist, fabulous tasting meatloaf--everyone loves it! The Hoisin sauce is available in the Oriental Food Section of the grocery store... it is like cross between soy and ketchup, and makes a wonderful glaze for this moist meatloaf. We love this dish. Very moist. Serve with rice and steamed broccoli. A wonderful dinner. Leftovers make great sandwiches.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ground meat: A combination of ground beef and ground pork creates a moist and flavorful meatloaf. You can also use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ginger, garlic, and scallions add a lot of flavor to this Asian-style meatloaf. Make sure to use them if you have them on hand.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf: Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Bake the meatloaf in a low oven: A low oven temperature helps to keep the meatloaf moist and juicy. Bake the meatloaf at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center reads 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: Letting the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing helps to keep the juices in the meatloaf. This will also make it easier to slice.

This Asian-style meatloaf is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The combination of ground beef and pork, fresh ginger, garlic, and scallions creates a flavorful and moist meatloaf that is sure to please everyone at the table. Serve the meatloaf with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.
