Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 9 ouce box frozen artichoke hearts, thawed
1/2 cup c3erry tomatoes, cut in half
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 cup shredded reduced-fat Swiss cheese
1 slice whole-wheat bread, made into crumbs
2 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the broiler. Cook the artichoke hearts according to package directions. Drain well and combine with the tomatoes in a large au gratin dish or other shallow, flameproof dish. Sprinkle with the thyme, then the Swiss cheese. 2. Broil 4 inches from the heat until the cheese starts to melt, about 1 minute. Combine the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese and sprinkle evenly over the cheese. Broil until the bread crumbs are browned, about 1 minute.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh artichoke hearts: Look for artichoke hearts that are firm, plump, and have a bright green color. Avoid any that are brown or wilted.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use will have a big impact on the flavor of the gratin. Use a cheese that melts well and has a strong flavor, such as Parmesan, Gruyère, or Cheddar.
  • Don't overcook the artichoke hearts: Artichoke hearts are best when they are cooked until they are tender but still have a slight bite to them. Overcooking will make them mushy.
  • Serve the gratin immediately: Artichoke hearts gratin is best served hot out of the oven. The cheese will be melted and gooey, and the artichoke hearts will be tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Artichoke hearts gratin is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as an appetizer, side dish, or main course. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its creamy cheese sauce, tender artichoke hearts, and crispy breadcrumb topping, artichoke hearts gratin is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it!
