Tips:

  • Choose fresh artichokes: Look for artichokes that are heavy for their size, with tightly closed leaves and no signs of bruising or wilting.
  • Trim the artichokes properly: Cut off the stem and the top inch of the artichoke. Then, use a sharp knife to remove the tough outer leaves until you reach the pale green leaves.
  • Soak the artichokes in lemon water: This will help to prevent the artichokes from browning and will also add a bit of brightness to the soup.
  • Cook the artichokes until tender: You can boil, steam, or roast the artichokes. Just make sure that they are cooked until they are tender enough to easily pierce with a fork.
  • Use high-quality bacon: The bacon is one of the key ingredients in this soup, so it's important to use good quality bacon. Look for bacon that is thick-cut and has a good amount of marbling.
  • Don't overcrowd the pot: When cooking the bacon, don't overcrowd the pot. This will prevent the bacon from crisping up properly.
  • Use a good quality broth: The broth is another important ingredient in this soup, so it's important to use a good quality broth. Look for a broth that is made with real ingredients and has a rich flavor.
  • Season the soup to taste: Once the soup is finished cooking, season it to taste with salt and pepper. You may also want to add a bit of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper for a little bit of heat.

Conclusion:

This artichoke bacon cauliflower soup is a delicious and hearty soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. The artichokes add a unique flavor to the soup, while the bacon and cauliflower add a richness and creaminess. This soup is also relatively easy to make, so it's a great option for a busy weeknight meal.
