HOT ARTICHOKE DIP WITH GREEN CHILI

Hot Artichoke Dip With Green Chili image

Great for parties with sliced baquette bread. This is the most simplest recipe, just 4 ingredients. I always have canned artichokes and green chilis in my pantry, shredded parmesan cheese in the freezer and of course mayonnaise is a staple in most kitchens. I have some family members who really dislike mayonnaise but they really love this dip.

ARTICHOKE AND GREEN CHILE DIP

Artichoke and Green Chile Dip image

I got a similar version of this recipe from a co-worker ten years ago and it has been a family favorite and party staple for me since then. Everyone loves it and there are a variety of ways to make it. This one seems to be the favorite. The following posting makes it slightly spicy; you can use less green Tabasco or none at all if you don't want it to be spicy.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh artichokes: Look for artichokes that are heavy for their size and have tightly closed leaves. Avoid artichokes that are brown or have wilted leaves.
  • Prepare the artichokes properly: To prepare the artichokes, cut off the stem and about 1 inch of the top of the artichoke. Then, using a sharp knife, carefully remove the fuzzy choke from the center of the artichoke. Finally, cut the artichoke into quarters.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: This recipe uses a combination of cream cheese, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Feel free to experiment with different types of cheeses to create your own unique dip.
  • Add some heat: If you like spicy food, add a diced jalapeño or serrano pepper to the dip. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers: This dip is great served with tortilla chips, pita chips, or vegetable crudités.

Conclusion:

This artichoke and green chile dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, cheesy, and has just the right amount of heat. Serve it with your favorite dippers and enjoy!
