A few things I might try: I would use parchment paper to line the cookie sheets.Check on the temperature, they might need at least 12 minutes. If using the candied orange peel, finely chop it.Let dough come to room temp before baking. From Food Network. Posted for ZWT 6

  • Bake for 7 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Use a spatula to remove the cookies from the sheet and let cool.

Tips:

  • Use unsalted butter and let it soften to room temperature before creaming with the sugar. This will ensure that the cookies are light and fluffy.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling and baking. This will help the cookies to hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set around the edges but still soft in the center. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before storing them in an airtight container. This will help them to keep their crisp texture.
