APPLESAUCE CINNAMON OAT MUFFINS
My grandmother passed this oatmeal muffin recipe down to me, and I'm eager to share it with my children. These down-home oatmeal muffins are tender on the inside and have a crispy topping of oats, brown sugar and cinnamon. I've even added raisins and cranberries to the batter for a different taste. -Hannah Barringer, Loudon, Tennessee

Tips:
- Choose the right apples: For the best flavor and texture, use a combination of tart and sweet apples, such as Granny Smith and Honeycrisp.
- Don't overcook the applesauce: You want the applesauce to be thick and chunky, not watery. Cook it until the apples are soft but still hold their shape.
- Use old-fashioned oats: Old-fashioned oats will give your muffins a heartier texture than quick-cooking oats.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing will make the muffins tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the muffins at a high temperature: This will help them rise quickly and develop a golden brown crust.
Conclusion:
Applesauce oatmeal breakfast muffins are a delicious and healthy way to start your day. They're packed with fiber, protein, and antioxidants, and they're also low in sugar and fat. Plus, they're easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy breakfast option, give these muffins a try!
