Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • To make the applesauce, peel and core 3-4 medium apples, then chop them into small pieces. Place the apples in a saucepan with 1/4 cup of water and 1/4 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the apples are soft. Mash the apples with a potato masher or fork until they are smooth.
  • If you don't have a bundt pan, you can use a 9x13 inch baking pan. Just be sure to adjust the baking time accordingly. The cake will take about 35-40 minutes to bake in a 9x13 inch pan.
  • To make sure the cake is done, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If it comes out with batter or crumbs attached, the cake needs to bake for a few more minutes.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Conclusion:

This applesauce chocolate chip bundt cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The cake is moist and flavorful, with a tender crumb and a rich chocolate flavor. The applesauce adds a subtle sweetness and moisture to the cake, while the chocolate chips add a touch of richness and decadence. This cake is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it!
