1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup chopped nuts
powdered sugar

  • Cool in pan on wire rack.
  • Just before serving, use foil strips to make striped design with powdered sugar, cocoa and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.

Tips:

  • Use ripe apples for the applesauce. This will give your brownies a more intense apple flavor. You could also use unsweetened applesauce from a jar, just make sure to reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe.

  • Bake the brownies in a 9x13 inch pan. This will give them a nice, thick texture.
