I ran across this recipe a few weeks ago in one of my cooking magazines and wanted to post them. You can either use the chunky applesauce or the regular applesauce in this recipe. It tastes great with both. PS. I made these this weekend for my son who just loves these, I made these with Splenda.

Tips:

  • To make the applesauce, peel and core the apples, then cut them into small pieces. You can use a food processor to make this task easier.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can grate the apples instead.
  • Be sure to measure the applesauce correctly. Too much applesauce will make the cookies too soft, while too little will make them too dry.
  • If you don't have any brown sugar, you can use white sugar instead. However, the cookies will be less flavorful.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them.

Conclusion:

Applesauce bar cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are soft and chewy, with a sweet and tangy flavor. The frosting is the perfect finishing touch, adding a creamy and decadent flavor to the cookies. Whether you are looking for a snack, a dessert, or a gift, applesauce bar cookies are sure to please everyone.
