TEQUILA LIME CHICKEN FROM APPLEBEE'S

Tequila Lime Chicken from Applebee's image

I started making this recipe years ago. It was probabley the first "out of my comfort zone" recipe I had ever tried and my family LOVED it. I actually think this recipe is better then the restaurant dish. On the mexi-ranch dressing I add much more cumin, chili powder, and dill weed then the recipe calls for so just keep mixing until you have the kind of flavor you desire.

Tips:

  • To achieve a flavorful and tender chicken, marinate it in the tequila-lime mixture for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed skillet or grill pan to sear the chicken, creating a nice crust while keeping the inside moist.
  • To prevent the chicken from sticking to the pan, make sure it is hot before adding the chicken and avoid moving it around too much.
