Tips for Making the Perfect Apple-Stuffed Turkey

  • Choose the right turkey: A 12-14 pound turkey is ideal for stuffing. Make sure the turkey is completely thawed before cooking.
  • Prepare the stuffing in advance: This will give the flavors time to meld and develop. You can make the stuffing up to 2 days ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
  • Use a variety of apples: This will give the stuffing a more complex flavor. Some good options include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn apples.
  • Don't overstuff the turkey: The stuffing should be loose and fluffy, so don't pack it in too tightly. This will help the stuffing cook evenly.
  • Roast the turkey at a high temperature: This will help the skin to brown and crisp up. Roast the turkey at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and continue roasting for another 2-2 1/2 hours, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the turkey rest before carving: This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the turkey, making it more tender and flavorful. Let the turkey rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.

Conclusion

Apple-stuffed turkey is a classic holiday dish that is sure to impress your family and friends. By following these tips, you can make the perfect apple-stuffed turkey that is moist, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
