Tips:

  • For the perfect strudel dough: Use a food processor to quickly and easily make the dough. Be sure to use ice-cold butter and water, and work the dough just until it comes together. Overworking the dough will make it tough.
  • To roll out the dough: Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out to a 12x16 inch rectangle. If the dough is too sticky, chill it for 30 minutes before rolling.
  • For the apple filling: Use a variety of apples for a more complex flavor. Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn are all good choices. Be sure to peel and core the apples before slicing them.
  • To assemble the muffins: Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each muffin cup. Top with a piece of strudel dough, pressing the edges to seal. Brush the tops of the muffins with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
  • To bake the muffins: Bake the muffins at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-35 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Conclusion:

Apple strudel muffins are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. With a flaky strudel crust and a sweet and tangy apple filling, these muffins are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
