APPLE STRIPS

Bar-sized apple pie. When I make this recipe, I sub greek yogurt for the sour cream and add more than stated - until it is a good texture to roll. Also, I roll between 2 sheets of waxed paper, peel the top piece, lay back down, flip over, peel the other sheet and flip onto pan.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best results.
  • Use a sharp peeler: This will help you get thin, even strips of apple.
  • Don't peel the apples too far in advance: Apples will start to brown quickly once they are peeled, so only peel them right before you are ready to use them.
  • Use a variety of spices: Experiment with different spices to find your favorite combination. Some popular choices include cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the apple strips, make sure to leave enough space between them so that they can cook evenly.
  • Cook the apple strips until they are tender: The apple strips should be tender but still hold their shape.
  • Serve the apple strips warm: Apple strips are best served warm, but they can also be served cold.

Conclusion:

Apple strips are a delicious and versatile snack or side dish. They can be enjoyed on their own, or they can be used in a variety of recipes. With so many different ways to make apple strips, you're sure to find a recipe that you'll love.
