Tips:
- Choose the Right Apples: For the best flavor and texture, use firm, tart apples such as Granny Smith, Braeburn, or Honeycrisp.
- Roll the Dough Thin: This will ensure that the roly-poly cooks evenly and has a flaky crust.
- Don't Overfill the Dough: Leave some space at the edges so that you can easily seal the dough.
- Seal the Dough Well: This will prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.
- Brush with Milk or Egg Wash: This will give the roly-poly a golden brown crust.
- Bake Until Golden Brown: Keep an eye on the roly-poly while it's baking and remove it from the oven when it's golden brown.
- Serve Warm: Apple roly-poly is best served warm with a scoop of ice cream or dollop of whipped cream.
