Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before starting, measure and prepare all ingredients. This will help ensure a smooth and efficient baking process.
  • Fresh Apples: Use crisp, tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best flavor.
  • Brown Sugar: Light or dark brown sugar can be used, depending on your desired level of sweetness and molasses flavor.
  • Oatmeal Crust: To make the oatmeal crust, use old-fashioned oats for a heartier texture. Pulse the oats in a food processor until they resemble coarse flour.
  • Cheesecake Filling: Use full-fat cream cheese for a rich and creamy filling. Let the cream cheese come to room temperature before mixing to ensure a smooth filling.
  • Baking Time: The baking time may vary depending on your oven, so keep an eye on the cheesecake bars towards the end of the baking time.
  • Cooling: Allow the cheesecake bars to cool completely before cutting and serving. This will help prevent them from falling apart.
