1 cup sugar
1 2/3 cups applesauce
2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped canned pears; well drained
Optional:
2 tbsp powdered sugar
Pint of vanilla bean ice cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Butter the 12" cast iron skillet.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt together and sift.
  • In a large sauce pan, melt the butter.
