MY GRANDMOTHER'S APPLE MACAROON
A apple cinnamon & pecan filling covered by a crispy crust. This is a farovite of mine that I found in my grandmothers recipe book. When I say recipe book I don't mean a store bought one. This was written in her own hand. I do hope you enjoy as much as I do.

- To prevent the apples from browning, toss them with a little lemon juice before adding them to the filling.
- If you don't have a pastry bag, you can use a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off to pipe the macaroon mixture onto the pie.
- To make the macaroon topping, be sure to use unsweetened shredded coconut. Sweetened coconut will make the topping too sweet.
