Steps:
- Make the dough: In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk until incorporated. On low speed, mix in the flour until the dough just comes together. Turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead 3 or 4 times to form a smooth ball. Pat the dough into a 6-inch disk. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and up the sides of an 11-inch by 1-inch fluted tart pan with a removable bottom. Prick all over with a fork. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place the tart shell on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until just starting to color. Set aside.

- Make the topping: In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour and brown sugar. Pour in the butter and crumble the mixture with your fingers. Pile it on the fruit to cover completely.

Tips:
- To make the perfect crumb topping, use a combination of flour, sugar, butter, and oats. The butter should be cold and cut into small pieces, and the oats should be old-fashioned. - To prevent the crust from becoming soggy, pre-bake it for 10-15 minutes before adding the filling. - Use a variety of apples for the filling, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn. This will give the tart a complex flavor and texture. - To make the tart ahead of time, bake it and let it cool completely. Then, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When you're ready to serve, let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before slicing. Conclusion:
Apple crumb tart is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With its sweet and tangy filling and buttery crumb topping, this tart is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
