Tips:

  • For a crispy topping, use a combination of oats, flour, brown sugar, and butter. The oats will add a nutty flavor and texture, while the flour will help to thicken the filling.
  • If you don't have any apples on hand, you can substitute other fruits such as pears, peaches, or berries.
  • To make the filling ahead of time, simply combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Then, when you're ready to bake the crisp, simply pour the filling into the prepared baking dish and top with the oat mixture.
  • If you want a gooey filling, add a tablespoon or two of cornstarch to the filling mixture. This will help to thicken the filling and prevent it from becoming too runny.
  • Serve the apple crisp warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Apple crisp is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make, delicious, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
