APPLE COFFEE CAKE BREAD

I've loved to cook since my grandmother helped me stand in a chair and "fry" toast when I was 4. I've been a nurse for 18 years, and my husband and I and our daughter recently moved here to Bristol, Tennessee from Bristol, Virginia-the state line runs down Main Street!

Tips:

  • Choosing the Right Apples: Use a combination of sweet and tart apples for a balanced flavor. Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn are all good choices.
  • Preparing the Apples: Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small pieces. This will help them cook evenly and distribute their flavor throughout the cake.
  • Measuring the Flour: Use the spoon and level method to measure the flour. This means spooning the flour into the measuring cup and then leveling it off with a knife or straight edge.
  • Mixing the Batter: Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Baking the Cake: Bake the cake in a preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This will ensure that the cake is cooked through.
  • Cooling the Cake: Allow the cake to cool completely before serving. This will help the flavors to develop and the cake to set.

Conclusion:

This classic apple coffee cake bread is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With its moist, tender crumb, sweet and tart apples, and crunchy streusel topping, this cake is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
