Categories     Sauces

Time 1h42m

Yield 1 1/3 Cups

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup sugar
4 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup apple cider or 1 cup apple juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan stir together the sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon.
  • Then stir in the apple cider or juice and lemon juice.
  • Cook and stir the mixture over medium heat till the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  • Then cook and stir for 2 minutes more.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the butter or margarine till melted.
  • Makes about 1 1/3 cups.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe apples. This will give your waffles the best flavor.
  • Grate the apples instead of chopping them. This will help them to evenly distribute throughout the batter.
  • Be sure to measure your flour correctly. Too much flour will make your waffles dry and dense.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make your waffles tough.
  • Cook your waffles on a hot waffle iron. This will help them to cook evenly and get a nice golden brown color.
  • Serve your waffles immediately with your favorite toppings. Some popular toppings include butter, syrup, fruit, and whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Apple cinnamon waffles with cider syrup are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. They're perfect for a special occasion or a lazy weekend morning. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a meal that your whole family will love. So next time you're looking for a new breakfast recipe, give these waffles a try.
