Tips:

  • Use a good quality bread for the strata. A sturdy bread, such as challah or brioche, will hold up well in the egg mixture and won't get soggy. Avoid using a bread that is too soft, as it will break down in the egg mixture and make the strata mushy.
  • Don't overbeat the egg mixture. Overbeating the egg mixture will make the strata tough. Whisk the eggs and milk together until they are well combined, but don't overbeat them.
  • Use fresh fruit. Fresh fruit will give the strata the best flavor. If you're using frozen fruit, thaw it completely before adding it to the strata.
  • Don't skimp on the spices. The spices are what give the strata its flavor. Use a generous amount of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  • Bake the strata until it is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The baking time will vary depending on the size of the baking dish and the type of bread you are using.

Conclusion:

Apple cinnamon raisin french toast strata is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast casserole that is perfect for a special occasion or a lazy weekend morning. With its moist, flavorful bread, sweet apples, raisins, and cinnamon-spiced custard, this strata is sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
