NATURAL APPLE CINNAMON OATS DOGGY TREATS

Natural Apple Cinnamon Oats Doggy Treats image

Here's an easy, safe, natural and healthy treat that dogs drool over! Makes their breath smelling fresh too-- what more can a pawrent ask for? I found this recipe somewhere on the web and altered it a bit to make it more natural and healthier for our furry friends. The original recipe called for 5 cups of flour and regular powdered milk. I instead used non-fat powdered milk and used just 2 3/4 Unbleached flour and 2 1/2 cups oat flour. You can make your own oat flour by grinding oatmeal using a food processor or even a coffee grinder would do. I or should I say, my dog Coco gave them as gifts to her doggy friends this Christmas. They were well received and consumed in no time... by the dogs and their humans too! We have lots of doggy friends and this recipe yields a lot so this was VERY economical.

  • Let it cool and serve with TLC.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe apples: Using ripe apples will provide the treats with a naturally sweet flavor and a soft texture.
  • Use old-fashioned oats: Old-fashioned oats will provide a heartier texture to the treats, compared to quick or instant oats.
  • Grind the oats: Grinding the oats into a flour will help to bind the ingredients together and create a more uniform texture.
  • Add a touch of cinnamon: Cinnamon is a classic spice that pairs well with apples and adds a warm, comforting flavor to the treats.
  • Don't over-mix the dough: Over-mixing the dough can make the treats tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a cookie scoop to shape the dough: A cookie scoop will help to create uniform-sized treats and will make the process easier.
  • Bake the treats at a low temperature: Baking the treats at a low temperature will help to prevent them from burning and will allow them to dry out evenly.
  • Store the treats in an airtight container: Once the treats have cooled, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will keep for up to two weeks.

Conclusion:

These apple cinnamon oatmeal dog treats are a healthy and delicious snack that your furry friend will love. They are made with wholesome ingredients like oats, apples, and cinnamon, and they are free from artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives. The treats are also easy to make, and they can be stored for up to two weeks. So next time you're looking for a special treat for your dog, give these apple cinnamon oatmeal treats a try.
