Apple-Chocolate Salad image

I had this for dessert in a movie bistro many years ago. Very simple but tasty treat! The chocolate should be at least 70 percent. The pecans can of course remain raw if you prefer that to toasting them.

Tips:

  • To ensure the best results, use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Choose ripe apples that are crisp and sweet, and dark chocolate that has a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Cut the apples into thin slices so that they will absorb the flavors of the dressing more easily. You can use a sharp knife or a mandoline to achieve thin, uniform slices.
  • If you don't have any lemon juice on hand, you can substitute it with another acidic ingredient, such as lime juice or vinegar. However, lemon juice is the preferred choice as it imparts a bright, citrusy flavor to the salad.
  • Be sure to chill the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop, resulting in a more delicious salad.
  • For a more decadent salad, you can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top. This will add a creamy, rich element to the salad that will balance out the tartness of the apples and chocolate.

Conclusion:

Apple chocolate salad is a delicious and refreshing treat that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal preferences. By following these tips, you can create a salad that is sure to impress your friends and family.
