Tips:

  • Prep the Apples: To enhance the taste and texture, consider peeling and slicing the Granny Smith or Braeburn apple into thin, even-sized pieces for optimal baking results.
  • Choosing Creamy, Full-fat Ingredients: Opt for full-fat cream cheese, sour cream, and heavy cream to achieve a rich and velvety cheesecake filling.
  • Properly Mix the Cheesecake Filling: Avoid over-mixing the cheesecake filling; aim to blend until smooth and creamy, as excessive mixing may lead to a grainy or curdled texture.
  • Baking in a Water Bath: To prevent the cheesecake from cracking during baking, place it in a larger pan filled with hot water (known as a water bath) and carefully transfer it to the preheated oven.
  • Cooling and Chilling: Allow the cheesecake to cool completely in the oven with the door ajar to avoid a sudden temperature drop that can cause cracking. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for a well-set and flavorful cheesecake.
  • Serving with Fresh Berries: Before slicing and serving, top the cheesecake with fresh blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries for an extra pop of color and a burst of sweetness.
