Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x12-inch baking dish generously.
- Whisk flour, sea salt, baking powder, and baking soda together in a bowl. Set aside.
- Combine walnuts, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl. Mix until walnuts and sugar are thoroughly coated with butter.
- Cream butter and sugar together in another bowl with a spatula until well blended. Add 1 egg and whisk until mixture is smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Whisk in second egg until thoroughly incorporated. Add vanilla extract and yogurt; whisk together. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients; whisk just until flour disappears. Do not overmix.
- Remove cores from apples. Cut across into 1/8- to 1/4-inch slices. Stack up a few slices, make 1 cut down the center, and dice across into cubes. Add to cake batter, folding in with a spatula until just combined.
- Spread 1/2 of the batter evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Scatter 1/2 of the crumble mixture evenly over the top. Top with the rest of the batter in dollops. Spread carefully to evenly distribute, trying not to disturb the crumbs. Top with the rest of the crumb mixture. Press crumbs into the batter very gently.
- Bake in the center of the preheated oven until a toothpick or bamboo skewer inserted into the center comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Let cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes, before slicing and serving.

APPLE BUTTERSCOTCH CAKE
I was looking through the "The Best of Country Cooking 2007"and I came across this recipe. It was ssubmitted to the above cookbook by Nancy Zimmermean from Cape May Court House,New Jersey.I decided to try it,and it wasn' t too bad :).I have found out that the amount of vegetable oil that was listed in the ingredients made the cake just a little too oily for me.I would suggest cutting the oil to 1/4 cup.Since my SO doesn't care for pecans I left those out.And I also found out that 45 minutes is too long to bake, so 35 minutes might be better. So if you try this recipe, please consider the changes that I have made.Submitted to "ZAAR" on April 28,2008.

Tips:
- Mise en place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and tools ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any mishaps.
- Use fresh ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your coffee cake will taste. If possible, use organic ingredients for the best flavor.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can make your coffee cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Use a bundt pan: A bundt pan is the perfect shape for coffee cake. It allows the cake to cook evenly and gives it a beautiful presentation.
- Don't overbake the cake: Overbaking the cake can make it dry. Check the cake for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is done.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting it: This will help the frosting set properly and prevent it from melting.
- Serve the coffee cake warm or at room temperature: Coffee cake is best served warm or at room temperature. This will allow the flavors to meld together and create a delicious treat.
Conclusion:
This apple butterscotch coffee cake is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion.
