Found this recipe on the back of a pkg of Emeril's sausage. Thought it was yummy. Have made it without thyme springs and it was still yummy.

POINTS-5. Simmering poultry in fat-free liquid is a moist, low-POINT way to flavor food. Experiment with other types of broths and juices, too.

Tips:
- Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples that hold their shape when cooked, such as Granny Smith, Braeburn, or Honeycrisp.
- Brown the chicken: Browning the chicken before braising adds flavor and color. Be sure to brown the chicken in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan and steaming the chicken.
- Use a good quality braising liquid: The braising liquid is what gives the chicken its flavor, so use a good quality broth or stock. You can also add wine, cider, or beer to the braising liquid for extra flavor.
- Cook the chicken until it is fall-off-the-bone tender: This will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. You can check the chicken for doneness by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh. The chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
- Serve the chicken with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles: This will help to soak up the delicious braising liquid.
Conclusion:
Apple braised chicken is a classic comfort food that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious and flavorful apple braised chicken that your whole family will love.
