Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples. This will give your brown betty a more complex flavor and texture. Some good options include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn apples.
  • Peel and slice the apples thinly. This will help them cook evenly and will make the brown betty more tender.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking dish. If the apples are too crowded, they won't cook evenly. Leave some space between the apples so that they can cook through.
  • Use a combination of white and brown sugar. This will give the brown betty a nice caramelized flavor.
  • Add a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. These spices will enhance the flavor of the apples and berries.
  • Serve the brown betty warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This will make the dessert even more delicious.

Conclusion:

Apple berry brown betty is a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its sweet and tart apples, juicy berries, and crispy oat topping, this dessert is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
