  • Preheat oven to 375°. In an 8-in. cast-iron or other ovenproof skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2/3 cup finely chopped peeled apple
1/4 cup raisins
2/3 cup buttermilk
1 large egg, separated
2 teaspoons butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
SYRUP:
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2/3 cup apple cider or juice
1 cinnamon stick (1-1/2 inches)
Dash ground nutmeg
Additional butter, optional

1 ¼ cups apple cider
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 apples, peeled, sliced
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon bourbon
2 slices bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled
2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
2 cups real maple or maple-flavored syrup
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 teaspoon butter

Steps:

  • In 10-inch skillet, melt 3 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. Add apple slices; stir to coat with butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in 1 tablespoon bourbon and the bacon; continue to cook until apples are tender. Remove from heat; cover to keep warm.
