Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 cup mixed berries (I used blueberries, cherries (frozen) and blackberries.)
1 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice
2 ounces tequila
ice for serving
berries for garnish (if desired)

Steps:

  • Use a wedge of lime to wet the rim of a glass and dip in either sugar or salt.
  • Add berries and simple syrup to the glass and muddle.
  • Stir in lime juice and tequila.
  • Top with ice and garnish with fresh berries if desired.
  • Note: If the seeds from the blackberries bother you simply strain through a sieve before serving.
  • Note: To make a large batch of simple syrup just combine equal parts sugar and water. I do 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup sugar. Keeps in the fridge for up to a month.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe and flavorful fruits: The better the quality of your fruit, the better your margaritas will be. Look for fruits that are in season and at their peak of ripeness.
  • Freeze your fruit ahead of time: This will help to create a slushy texture and prevent your margaritas from becoming watered down. You can freeze your fruit in a single layer on a baking sheet, then transfer it to a freezer-safe bag or container.
  • Use fresh lime juice: Fresh lime juice is essential for a classic margarita. Bottled lime juice will not give you the same flavor.
  • Don't skimp on the tequila: Use a good-quality tequila that you enjoy drinking. This is the main ingredient in your margarita, so make sure it's something you like.
  • Add some sweetness: If you like your margaritas on the sweeter side, you can add some simple syrup or agave nectar. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Serve your margaritas frozen or on the rocks: If you want a frozen margarita, blend your ingredients until they are smooth and slushy. If you prefer your margaritas on the rocks, simply pour your ingredients over ice.

Conclusion:

Frozen margaritas are a refreshing and delicious way to enjoy your favorite fruit. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make delicious frozen margaritas at home. So next time you're looking for a fun and easy way to cool down, give one of these recipes a try.
