  • Slice the tomatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly in the oven.
  • Use good quality mozzarella cheese: Fresh mozzarella cheese is ideal, but you can also use shredded mozzarella if that's all you have.
  • Don't overcook the tomatoes: They should be slightly softened, but still hold their shape.
  • Serve the salad bites warm: This is when they're at their best.

Conclusion:

These Caprese salad bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They're also a great way to use up leftover tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.

Here are some additional tips for making Caprese salad bites:

  • You can use any type of tomato you like, but cherry tomatoes or Roma tomatoes work best.
  • If you don't have fresh basil, you can use dried basil instead. Just be sure to use less, as dried basil is more concentrated.
  • You can also add other ingredients to your Caprese salad bites, such as roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, or olives.
  • Caprese salad bites are best served immediately, but they can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
