CINNAMON ANISE TEA

Cinnamon Anise Tea image

Tea is very popular in the Middle East. This is one that I've been making for a long time and not only does it taste great it has a mild soothing quality. It's certainly nothing medicinal but a few peaceful mins is a day can't be a bad thing. The cooking time is for steeping.

Traditional Thai Iced Tea With Star Anise image

I found this derink on Chow & it says that it is very refreshing. I haven't tried it yet but am looking forward to trying this summer (if we have one here in the UK!). Time to make doesn't include chilling time.

GINGER-ANISE TEA WITH LEMON AND HONEY

Ginger-Anise Tea With Lemon and Honey image

Got this from Middle Eastern Recipe (http://www.ummah.com/family/recipes.html). It's especially nice when you have a sore throat or generally feel cruddy, but is also delicious anytime. The ginger really comes through in a good way. Smells good too. Make sure to pour it through a fine strainer as you want to rid the tea of seeds and depending on your ginger you might get bits of ginger settling in the bottom of the cup, which makes for a very potent last sip!

1 teaspoon anise seed
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon lemon juice

ROOIBOS ANISE TEA

Rooibos Anise Tea image

This is one of my original recipe creations. It's especially good for those who already enjoy rooibos but want to give it a little variety. It's best hot but decent chilled. Note: I've listed things in teaspoons because this website won't let me list it in parts, but it's technically in a ratio, so you can make whatever quantity you want.

Time 15m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

1 teaspoon rooibos tea bag
1/2 teaspoon anise seed

Steps:

  • Assemble all the ingredients and place in a tea ball. Note: If you don't own a tea ball, then you can put the ingredients directly in the water and then strain out later. Note that food.com has forced me to list the rooibos as "rooibos tea bags" but I used loose leaf tea.
  • Place tea ball in hot water and steep for 10 minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh anise seeds: Fresh anise seeds have a stronger flavor and aroma than dried seeds.
  • Use a fine-mesh strainer: A fine-mesh strainer will prevent the anise seeds from getting into your tea.
  • Steep the tea for 5-10 minutes: Steeping the tea for longer will result in a stronger flavor.
  • Add honey or sugar to taste: Anise tea can be enjoyed plain or sweetened with honey or sugar.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist: A lemon twist adds a refreshing citrus flavor to anise tea.

Conclusion:

Anise tea is a delicious and refreshing beverage that can be enjoyed hot or cold. It has a variety of health benefits, including aiding digestion, reducing inflammation, and boosting the immune system. Anise tea is also a good source of antioxidants, which can help protect the body against free radical damage. If you're looking for a healthy and flavorful tea to add to your routine, anise tea is a great option.
